Dancing on a Cloud

“Dancing on a cloud” adds that magical touch and makes for amazing first dance pictures.  If you are great dancers, it will take your first dance to another level.  If you aren’t the best dancers in the world, it will make your first dance special without adding the pressure to impress your guests with your moves.  You will be amazed on how many pictures your guests will take of your first dance.

The cloud is produced with the use of heated water and dry ice in a professional machine resulting in a thick white cloud of smoke resembling, well, a cloud!. It will not affect smoke detectors.  There is no odor to the cloud unlike other fog machines.  There is no moisture left on the dance floor because dry ice goes from solid to gas when activated by the hot water.

During Weddings, “Dancing on a Cloud” is most often used during a first dance, parent’s dances, or grand entrance. For Sweet 16s, they are typically used during the father-daughter dance or even during the dance with the boyfriend. The effect can also be used with you winter or halloween theming.

No matter how you choose to utilize this unique effect, it will transform your dance floor instantaneously with a beautiful sea of cloud which will gently lap around your feet, creating a magical look that will really add the ‘WOW’ factor. You will feel like you’re literally “Dancing on a Cloud”. This special effect allows the photographer to get some of the best shots of the night.

A Dry-Ice machine is small in size and usually black in color, so as not to be intrusive. The machine is loaded before it is set to be used, and rolled to the side of the dance-floor, away from view, where it is activated at the discretion of the operator. It can emit the effect for a full 3-5 minutes. We typically prefer to activate it during the climax of the song, as a surprise and creating a big “WOW moment.”

This effect is great for adding a dramatic look to any dance floor for that special dance. Our effect will also look great in any photography or video as it gives the illusion that you are dancing in the clouds.

FAQs

Is the smoke that comes out of this machine hot?
No. It is cool and created by condensation … just like the fog you see in nature.

Is it safe for people with medical conditions?
The effect uses dry-ice, which is solid carbon dioxide, dipped into hot water. These are the only two items required to create low-lying fog! There are no chemicals, additives, oils or any other items which may trigger a condition. But please always consult with a doctor.

Can this set off fire alarms?
No, the fog stays low to the ground, and does not rise above your knees. With that said, the alarm systems at some venues are very sensitive and can possibly detect it. We have never had an incident where low-lying fog has set off any alarms. Your venue manager would be the best person to ask.

What if my venue says no fog machines?
We should begin by stressing that our “Dancing on a Cloud” effect is NOT a fog machine. Many venues outlaw conventional fog machines as they set off fire sprinklers and can fill a room with an excessive amount of fog.

Our “Dancing on a Cloud” effect however is Dry Ice based and will never rise above 3 feet off the floor and dissolves cleanly leaving absolutely nothing behind.

We are always glad to speak with the venue to explain the effect and even do a demo for them if needed.

Does it cause a slippery condition?
Marble or similar floors may become slightly damp but unless your first dance involves a tap-dancing number, most floors are totally fine.
